Drink Your Breakfast
One way to get the nutrition we need to start our day is by making a morning smoothie, shake or other breakfast drink. As moms we don’t think we always have the time to make a smoothie in the morning with all the slicing and blending required. But, with the following recipes, you will find there is little or no slicing required, and they are made with ingredients you probably already have on hand.
Easy Orange Cream Smoothie
Combine the following ingredients in blender for a quick and easy, but delicious smoothie:
* 1-6 oz. can frozen orange juice concentrate
* 1 cup water
* 1 cup milk
* 1/4 sugar
* 1 tsp vanilla
* 10 ice cubes
If you don’t have frozen orange juice use regular and omit the water. Pour into containers and freeze for consumption at a later time, if needed. Since this recipe is so easy, however, you may find you have time to whip it up in the morning.
Easy Banana Latte Smoothie
This is another easy to make smoothie recipe especially for coffee lovers.
* 1 cup milk
* 3/4 cup strong coffee, chilled
* 2 bananas
* 6 ice cubes
Combine all of the above ingredients and blend until smooth.
No Monkey Business Here Smoothie
Kids will enjoy this one, as well as adults.
* 1 cup milk
* 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
* 2 tbsp. peanut butter
* 1 banana, frozen
Break banana into chunks, then combine with other ingredients and blend until smooth. This smoothie is thick enough to eat with a spoon. To thin it out some, add more milk until you get the desired consistency.
Berry Fruity Smoothie
This recipe calls for frozen fruit and you can use whatever combination of fruit you like or have on hand.
* 1 cup frozen fruit
* 1 cup milk
* 1 tsp. vanilla
* 1/4 cup sugar
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Easy-schmeezy and ready in just a couple of minutes.
Making smoothies and serving them for breakfast is not only a fun treat your kids will love, but they will also give you the needed nutrition to start your day. Next time you don’t have time to cook breakfast, think smoothie.

Easy to Make Breakfast Sandwiches
Many people often run through the drive through for a breakfast sandwich because they are delicious and easy to eat while driving or riding in the car on the way to work or school. However, those breakfast sandwiches are so unhealthy and they cost a lot. Did you know you can make them for a whole lot less, a whole lot healthier and a whole lot quicker than going through the drive through? You can! All it takes is a little bit of preparing ahead.
Ingredients to prepare ahead are sausage patties, bacon, sausage links, and silver dollar size pancakes. After cooking and cooling, place in refrigerator or freezer for future use.
English Muffin Breakfast Sandwiches
While toasting two halves of an English muffin, reheat frozen or refrigerated bacon or sausage in the microwave; you can also use a slice of ham or Canadian bacon. Place a slice of cheese and your choice of meat between the English muffin halves. Wrap in a paper towel and go!
Grab and Go Griddlers
Reheat already prepared silver dollar pancakes and sausage patties in the microwave. Make a sandwich out of two pancakes and your choice of sausage or bacon. Add cheese if desired.
Not an Average Toasted Sandwich
You can make the toast while applying your makeup or blow drying your hair. If you like, spread some butter or margarine on the warm toast, then top with cheese, reheated bacon or sausage. You can also use sliced ham or Canadian bacon if you prefer. Top with another slice of toast for easy eating.
Fruity Breakfast Bagels
Here’s a fun and tasty twist for a quick, on-the-go breakfast using bagels. You can toast the bagels if you prefer, but you don’t have to. After spreading cream cheese on both bagel halves, top with your favorite fruit slices such as strawberries, raspberries, kiwi, blackberries, cherries, melons and bananas. Eat like a sandwich or separately.
Waffle Bites
Toast frozen waffles according to package directions or reheat frozen homemade waffles. Top with peanut butter and bananas and place another waffle on top making a sandwich. Cut the waffle sandwich into four pieces and place in a bowl or other container for transporting. Your whole family will enjoy these easy to eat, warm treats.
Quick and Easy Egg Sandwich
Scrambled eggs are the quickest to make for a family. Add shredded cheese to the scrambled eggs to hold them together between two pieces of toast or bread. Add reheated bacon or sausage and voila`, you’ve got a warm and hearty breakfast that’s easy to eat on the go.

Breakfast Burrito Variations
Breakfast burritos are one of the most popular breakfast foods because they are quick and easy to make, and perfect for those eating-on-the-go mornings. But, having scrambled eggs wrapped in a flour tortilla can get old. So here are some fresh ideas for making quick and easy breakfast burritos using leftovers or other ingredients you probably have on hand.
Torts
My hubby will take a hot dog or two, some mustard and ketchup and wrap them up in a warm tortilla. You can add cheese or chili if you prefer. Yes, he eats this for breakfast and they are yummy. My nephew informed me they were called “Torts”.
A Taste of Italy
Another thing my hubby likes to do is to take some leftover spaghetti sauce and wrap it in a warm tortilla. He will also put the sauce over a hot dog and eat it that way. Surprisingly, it is very good. You could also wrap leftover spaghetti noodles with the sauce mixed in, in a tortilla.
Tex-Mex Chili
When you have leftover chili, warm a little in the microwave, spread in a tortilla, wrap and go.
Potato Burrito
Use up those leftover baked potatoes by dicing and warming in the microwave. Add some shredded cheese and wrap in a warmed flour tortilla. If you have some chopped onion or chives, you can add that for flavor. Also feel free to season the potatoes while they are warming with your favorite spices.
Bean Burritos
Warm a drained can of pinto beans, black beans or refried beans in the microwave (remove from can first). Warm a flour tortilla on the stove, then place some beans in the tortilla with some cheese, wrap and go. Beans are high in fiber and protein, so this makes for a great way to start your day.
Veggie Burrito
Okay, this probably should be called a veggie wrap, but I’m trying to stick with the theme here. If you have leftover salad or chopped veggies, wrap them in a flour tortilla, with a little of your favorite dressing and go.
Steak Burrito
We’ve had leftover steak a couple of times so we cut it into strips, wrapped in a flour tortilla and eaten cold; tastes great! The best time to cut the steak is when it’s still warm and tender. You can warm the steak if you prefer, but I don’t like reheated meat personally. Add whatever veggies you like and you’ve got a yummy twist to the traditional breakfast burrito.
As you can see, with a little imagination and a flour tortilla, you can create yummy, quick and easy burritos for breakfast, or any time!
