When I was growing up my Mom was a single mom. She alway owned a boat.

    1973 Boston Whaler Sakonnet
1965 Chris Craft 22ft Sea Skiff Sportsman
    1968 Bertram Moppie
    1982 381 chris craft catalina
    1986 ski nautique 2001

Also, my younger sister is single and bought a boat. Why don’t you think more women own boats?

My sister is 42 and single. She gave me this answer. Women are generally more concerned about fashion and looking good. Boats are a low priority on their list and are a non-essential, high expense luxury item.

      Man seeking Woman

      Wanted woman with boat.

      "Send picture" of boat.

My new wife owned two boats before I met her, both were purchased new.

I guess that is why I married her.

Some women use the idea that to attract the right man they need to show exactly what they are looking for, if the woman buys the boat and actually uses it then she must enjoy that life style. Obviously the man she attracts will appreciate her for the boat but also for knowing that going boating will not be hinderred by the wife not enjoying that life style.

Cars and boats are things we normally associated with men (single or otherwise). It’s a little unusual to find a single woman ride or own a boat. She would rather spend her money on shopping or treating herself to dinner with friends.

I guess it’s just the way women see things. They’d rather do things in a group than ride out in a boat in an exploratory sense. A cruise of course, is a different thing.

They don’t give the rush a horseback ride does.
