  • How can I repair carpet that my dog has torn?

My dog has torn up the carpet at the seam in my hallway!! What is the best way to repair it? I know I’ll have to get some carpet from the closet to put in it’s place, but what kind of adhesive do I use? I’ve tried the carpet tape, but this is a pretty big area. Any advice?
I have padding underneath the carpet, no just a bare floor. If that makes a difference.

Regular carpet/floor adhesive (multi-purpose) will do. Make sure the floor underneath is cleaned b4 applying. For now you can trim the frayed edges with scissors and apply a sealant on top to keep the seams from fraying until you can get to it later. I used clear finger nail polish once and it worked for me but I suppose this depends on the material.

Carpet adhesive will fix the problem short term but it will most likely come up again afer some wear. The best thing to do is heat seam it with a special heat seaming iron and tape and done professionally.
