You have 2 things you want to do here:

    1. Kill the mold.

    2. Clean the leather seats.

To kill the mold, try to get your hands on Micro-ban. If you cannot, then you buy Germmo-ban from Home Depot, which is almost as good. You want to spray the moldy areas down with this, as per directions on bottle. Let air out.

Once you have completed this, now you can clean the leather. I have cleaned more leather upholstery on yachts then I care to try to count..lol

The cool thing about it, is it comes out great! I used a machine, BUT you can get excellent results by hand, also. In fact, most companies who clean leather on yachts do it by hand.

Basically, you want to get a mild upholstery. Zep makes an upholstery cleaner that comes in a spray bottle, and that too can be purchased at Home Depot. But really just about any upholstery cleaner wil do.

Spary down a section of the leather- Like one seat space. Don’t be a fraid to wet it pretty good, and then brush the hell out of it with a soft and brush. Brush up, and down, side to side, in circles. You will see that the foam on the leather, will become dark.

Once you have done this, wipe it off, with a dry towel, and , then repeat with a wet towel, then repeat again, with a dry towel. You should have a lot of towels/rags on hand, as you will go through a lot of them.. Ofcourse as the towels get visibly dirty, you will want to use new ones.
Once you have completed a section, look it over and decide if it could use another go, if not just move one, and repeat on all the leather. You should be able to get EXCELLENT results.

After all your leather has been through, you might want to buff it out with a leather conditioner, which is really just good to do every so often with boat leather anyhow.

    Good luck.

When it si completly done, you might want to spray the whole thing down with the micro-ban again, just to be safe.. Mold, once there, can stick around, especailly on a boat, if not taken care of. The Micro-ban has a harsh smell, and may feel funny spraying it again, after all your cleaning, but the smell will dissipate.

If you are in the New York area, I could recomend someone to do it professionally, if you’re not into all the work.
Either way, I believ it can be restored, if not completely- pretty damn close.

Best way to get rid of mold is bleach and water.

Simple Green- best for cleaning everything on a boat and wont stain or leave residue

I cleaned our leather boat upholstery and top with something called "awesome". Its a cheap spray cleaner that you just spray on and wipe off. It took off mildew, mold and grime. Left the seats and top looking almost like new
