Getting rid of carpet stains that reappear after I clean them?

I’ve used a heavy duty carpet cleaner, steam mop w/ the carpet attachment, pretty much all the carpet cleaning solutions (expensive, cheap, & in between carpet cleaners), and nothing has worked. Sometimes the stain will go away and then reappear just like it was before in a few days. What gives?! What’s your best carpet stain cleaning advice?

What I do for carpet stains, as I was shown by a professional carpet cleaner, is wetting the area with water, and lightly scrubbing it with your finger tips since brushes or hard scrubbing can damage the carpet. use an old towel, and cover the wet spot, and use an iron to steam out the dirt. The water actually will be drawn to the heat and into the towel.

Have the same problem…the dirt is wicking up from the nap as the area dries…try cleaning ONLY the top without all the fluids…You probably have overcleaned the area and will end up with a lighter spot by the time you are finished! Dampen a tag with WATER and rub the surface only …see if that helps.
