If the pesticide imadacloprid is spilled onto a carpet, is there anyway to clean the carpet and neutralize it?

Spilled some imadacloprid on the carpet. Is there anyway to successfully neutralize the pesticide from the fibers in the carpet, or does the carpet need simply be ripped up and replaced?

That is not one of the really nasty chemicals but nonetheless it is poison. It’s water soluble so if you rinse/vac it a few times with water and a mild detergent I would believe you could get just about all of the residue out. (Don’t use steam unless you use a respirator because you could vaporize some of it.) Use one of those Hoover things that uses room temp water.

If you aren’t comfortable with getting "just about all" of it out (you’ll never get 100% because we’re talking molecules here and some molecules will always remain) then you may have to replace it for your own peace of mind.
