What is the best way to measure weight loss success?

My family and I are doing a weight loss challenge where we are putting in a bucket and winner gets all. The only problem is we are not sure of the best way to make it equal for all. We are all different sizes and gender. Some are overweight and would like to lose 40+lbs, whereas others could not lose more than 20 without being too underweight.
How can we make it fair for all competing rather than just saying who ever loses the most pounds wins?

How much money (£) would I need to travel around India for 2 months?

I am planning to travel around India for 2 months in September. I would be going with my boyfriend so we would be sharing a room. It would be nice to do it quite cheaply, but probably not staying in hostels all the time, but apparently b&b type accomodation is quite cheap. We are not extravagant but wouldn’t be too frugal either.

The price would include accomodation, meals, sightseeing, travel within the country, but not flights to India (which is approx £500).

Any advice from people who have travelled round India would be greatly appreciated.

What carpet can we put on top of our tiled basement floor, knowing a little water comes in during the rain?

Each time it rains, a little bit of water seeps under the tiles in our basement floor. Not much at all, but I’m wondering what type of carpet/ pad to get so that even that little bit, over time, won’t become mildew/ mold. I’d love any suggestions.

Someone recently told me that they heard of this new thing where you take your baby to a chiropractor and they do a quick little adjustment near their sternum and it cures them of spitting up. Has anyone ever heard of this or tried it before? Any info on how I can find someone in my area to do it? I live on Long Island in NY. Thanks!

What is the most effective workout for weight loss especially for obese people?
I am not asking for obvious answers such as they have to eat less or eat healthier.
I would like to know your opinion on the workout part, what and how obese people should work out.

How are travel times determined in Chicagoland traffic reports?

WBBM, WGN, and all the other radio stations (even the music stations) use travel times for the major expressways, so how do they determine that?

Two Chicago friends I know have different opinions, one says they hire people to drive and the other says the mix use of cameras and censors.

Isnt there some sort of emergency release anchors on boats?

I always thought each boat had some sort of emergency release for problems such as these. I am sure that there have been plenty of accidents and injuries due to an anchor mishap. I believe if all boats that have anchors do not have a release, it should be something that is mandatory in the new models. In a way, like they have changed the seat belts to the upper-strap in cars.

Can you place tile ontop of carpet, in a small bathroom area?

As a renter unable to have the carpet removed and just do not like the carpet that is under the bathroom sink area, so I thought perhaps as weird as it sounds that perhaps laying tile that is glued to the carpet would be an alternative. I know it’s way out there. Sorry.
