I’ve had this GPS for about a week and overall I’m happy. The display is nice and bright and easy to see in the sunlight. Using this device in portrait mode makes a lot of sense because you are typically more interested in what is in front of you rather than on the side of you. Information on the display is well thought out and very usable.

The GPS is super simple to use with a very logical user interface, and the POI coverage is pretty good. I typed in a few obscure places and if found them all.

The one thing that is a little screwy has to do with re-routing. As a test, I programmed an address and selected a route that was a shorter distance but a longer travel time by 10 minutes (1:30 travel time). But instead of following the GPS directions, I drove a route that I was familiar with (1:20 travel time). The 2455 kept trying to get me back on to the route I originally chose even when I was at a location 1 hr from my destination and the re-routing would have taken 1:30. I would have expected the GPS to choose the route that I was traveling on when the time and distance became shorter than the re-route but that was not the case.

Overall I’m happy with the GPS. I’m just not sure about the re-routing logic.

I Want To Give My Son A Powerdrill

I finally broke down and purchased a drill worth talking about. This is a nice drill for projects around the house and at work. The price was not too expensive and I am sure I will get plenty of use out of it.

This kit is an excellent value no matter where you finally purchase 18v DC970K-2 Dewalt from. The extra bonus of having an extra battery (2 batteries in this kit)around for those of us who own multiple 18v Dewalt products is beyond a very good thing. The 18V battery alone by itself solo at one time retailed for $80 plus dollars.This i know first hand because i bought one back then too. I don’t have much to add here that others have not said perhaps far better in other reviews. Hey its a Dewalt and a very strong unit. For the cost this is a performer no matter what you may ask this drill to do for you.

So far i have used it to screw/drill boards, siding, drywall and sheet metal. This 18v DC970K-2 Dewalt drill does what a drill should do and the battery life is also pretty good all things considered. But please do your wallet a big favor by shopping around for the best price available as i was really surprised at the differences more so when you add shipping or tax depending on your location.

To Carry On, Check Baggage Or Both?

This travelers choice carry on can expand up to a 25% more packing capacity. the eva padded front panel gives it extra durability. multiple front pockets, top and side carry handles, and dual adjustable tie down straps make traveling a breeze. the carry-on comes with solid metal hardware. it also comes with large zippered mesh lid pocket and a full interior lining.

The suitcase is perfect size for a carry-on. It has a reasonable amount of pockets. The fact that it is expandable helps and I even got away with it at the airport when it was expanded and filled up and no one said anything about it being oversized, because it doesn’t look like it is, even though it gives you plenty of space on the inside. I only used the suitcase once so far, and I haven’t used the bag. On my way back I noticed that the suitcase wiggled a little from side to side, but I don’t think it was the problem with the wheels, I think I was just going too fast. The SSSA works really well. So well in fact that I need only turn it up about a third of the way. Sound is crisp and unexpectedly natural. Voices are clear. There is no hum. In fact so good is the amplification – and so natural – that I several times have removed it from my ear to see if it is really working. It is. Oh yes, it is! Back in it immediately goes.

Price and effectiveness aside the SSSA has yet other advantages.

One it is rechargeable. Plug it in for a couple of hours and it is ready to go again. The instructions say four hours, but I have found that thus far the charging/ready light has always gone out in less than an hour. Note: This was after a couple of hours use, not when the unit’s battery was completely run down.

Two the SSSA appears to be a blutooth phone. I’m cool with that. True hearing aids seem to me to go with canes and phony choppers sitting in a glass of water. I’m not quite ready for that yet and thankfully need neither.

As you can tell I am very pleased with product. Indeed I could not be more so. Or, for that matter, more surprised by how well it works.

I loved Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain and a lot of the acting in this film, but I did feel that it was the hundredth movie I’ve seen where if it wasn’t for a noble white person then the black characters would be doomed. I felt this way after THE BLIND SIDE as well. It’s not to say that the movie itself is racist or anything like that but maybe paternalistic? Things were terrible in the South to say nothing of Mississippi around the time of the Medgar Evers assassination, much worse than maids being disallowed from using their employers’ toilets. I think the sheer level of every day prejudice is sometimes forgotten with stories like this one.

Yes, We Do Want The Kindle Fire For Christmas!

I am really pleased to be the owner of the new kindle Fire, it is fabulous, touch screen so sensitive and it just works so well. It is better than an I pad and is also good to read books on. I have standard Kindle and am really pleased with that as a medium to read from, but adding the colour and the web to the Fire makes it just superb. I have had it for nearly 2 months now and am really pleased I purchased it.

I’ve wanted an e-reader for a long time, and I’m so glad I waited for the Kindle Fire to come out. I have a laptop and a mini laptop, so a full tablet would have been unnecessary for me. The Kindle Fire meets my reading and internet needs and I love traveling with it. I haven’t been disappointed thus far and am looking forward to discovering more!

I was pleasantly surprised to see how sturdy this toy organizer was when I received it. I was even more surprised when I was able to fit more than I originally thought into the deep bins. Very nice organizer and now my floor doesn’t look like a toy factory had a blowout!
