Can I be charged for carpet cleaning if the carpet is being replaced?
I recently moved from a apartment that is being converted to condos. Can management charge me for carpet cleaning, painting, cleaning the mini bllinds if these things are being replaced in the conversion process.
How can I tell if the carpet in my apartment was recently cleaned?
The management office for our apartment told us the carpets would be cleaned a few days before we moved in. Yesterday (Sunday) was our move-in day, however, the carpets don’t look as though they were cleaned yet. I called the office today and the office maintenance log says the carpets were cleaned, but I’m not sure this is accurate. How can I tell by looking at the carpets whether they were cleaned or not? There are still lots of furniture marks in the carpet and some stains. There are also no lines where the machine would have passed on the carpets. I have two small children who literally live on the floor all day, so I want to be sure the job was done right!

The carpet in my apartment is at least 20 years old. My biggest concern is health risks. It is filthy even after being steam cleaned I can only imagine what is trapped in the deteriorating carpet pad that might cause resperitory problems. The carpet is warn through, uneven and has been ripped up by previous tenants running cords under it. It is permanantly discolored by dirt and sundamage. It is pulling up along the door jam and catches when opening and closing the door. I have only lived here a year and didn’t create any of this damage. Are there laws regarding when carpet must be replaced?

Secondly, we have a party fo 6 adults and 1 child. Is there any apartment sort of accomodation which works cheaper than hotels in these countries – Italy and Switzerland?

How much will it cost to replace the wall-to-wall carpeting in my apartment? It is typical tan, apartment grade carpet, and I know my apartment will jack up the price because they are money hungry. So anyone know the going rate?

I live in Florida and we got pretty substancial water damage and had mold growing all over our carpets. They were clean but only fairly… I am a neat freak!!!! I constantly was cleaning the carpets and after 2 years of mold issues finally moved out. Now we are getting charged for carpet replacements. I am sending them a letter to dispute but I thought I heard someplace that there was a law about about 2 years of occupancy the carpets should be changed… I agree… I’m sorry for you Landloards but after having several people living on floors it should be done.
Anyway, overall, the carpets are in good condition… the bottom line is that it’s mold damage not carelessness or filthness of my husband or I. I should not be responsible for mold damage which to the untained eye looks like stained carpet.

I’m nieve and didn’t even think to take pictures of anything and have already moved. The best that is that the two years we have lived there I have seen them change every tennants carpet regardless… they probably are just charging us just becasue.
