What is something you can place on carpet to keep heavy traffic areas clean?
We just cleaned our carpets. It was a horrible pain, but now I am obsessed with keeping those high traffic areas clean. There will be a no shoes policy, but we do have a dog, and just people around will get a (whitish) carpet dirty. Any ideas?

BTW, I’ve used Brawn stain remover every time the little one had an "accident", along with steam cleaning the carpets once already. His smell still lingers, however. Eh, gross.

What colors would work with green carpet?
I am wanting to redo my bedroom. The carpets are a dark green. My sheets are a blush color and comforter white. I don’t know what color to paint the walls. I don’t want to pull up the carpet and I really like my sheets. Any suggestions? Also in our bathroom around the sink is a dark green and I want to repaint it also but if I do yellow it would look john deerish and if I did red itd be too christmasy. Any ideas here?
How do I remove rubberized carpet padding which is stuck to my wood floor?
I removed my carpets in preparation to sand and refinish my wood floors however, the carpet pad which has a rubberized texture has adhered to the wood flooring and is very difficult to scrape off. Any hints for removing the padding without damaging the wood floors will be appreciated.

My "carpet guy" came to clean my carpets before Christmas and all he used was a pink cleaning solution in a spray bottle and a scrub brush. At one point I even got down on my hands and knees and helped him it looked so easy. (and it was.) When I asked him what was in the bottle, he said that it was a trade secret. Now I am dying to know! I want some to use myself, we have 4 children, so you can imagine the spots we encounter!
