Can earth tones go with dark gray carpet?
I had been planning to redo my living room with dark chocolate furniture and burgandy accents and had everything picked out including paint. Then we had to move suddenly and the carpet in the new house is a dark gray with purplish undertones in certain light. Can a brown couch work with gray carpet? I’m not sure my original plans will look right, and I’m having trouble coming up with a new plan. We can’t have black (cats) or white (toddler) and neither of us like the idea of red furniture. We’ve had blue the last ten years, which prompted my original desire for change. In a few years, I plan to go back to a nice neutral beige carpet, but if I get new carpet now, I won’t be able to afford furniture. Suggestions? Thanks!

How do I get rid of bad carpet odors, with out using any special products?
Our living room carpet has the most ghastly smell, a combination of not being properly cleaned with a carpet cleaner, a smelly dog and small children spilling a variety of juices on it. The Carpet cleaner has broken down, is there any way of cleaning the carpet using things one might find around the home and not using speacial products. I’ve heard of using Bicarb. is there another way? Please someone help!
What kind of carpet would match forest green walls?
I want to paint the walls in my living room forest green and I need help finding a carpet to match. The entertainment stand and coffee table are dark brown wood with glass accents. Also my couch is tan with multicolored pillows–dark blue, dark red, and green. What kind of carpet will go well with this combination? I either want a solid color or an oriental style rug, and my budget is anything up to ,500. Links would be great

How do you clean carpet and restore the pile?
I live in my rv and have a carpeted living room. It’s small, so the whole thing is high traffic. I vacuum everyday (necessary as I have 2 cats) and the carpet is fairly clean.The cats have not had any accidents on it. The pile has flattened out, and vacuuming only partially pulls it back up, but it goes flat again as soon as it’s walked on. The carpet is one year old..Is shampooing the way, or is steaming? Thanks!
What kind of carpet should I get for wheelchair use?
My carpet in the bedrooms and hallway is the original carpet (16 years old). it is a plush or cut pile. My husband is a quadriplegic in a motorized wheelchair. He is very tough on all types of floors. We have burber in the living room and dining room and it seems to wear well. I would like to try frieze. He tends to mash and twist the carpet, especially when turning into a doorway. Will the frieze mat down quickly?
I am re-carpeting my old home. Is it OK to use a different color carpet in bedrooms than in hallways?
The home is a duplex converted to a single-family home. The two hallways are still intact with 2 bedrooms off each hallway. I am planning to recarpet throughout and both hallways, living room, den will be same carpet color. Is it OK to have a different color carpet in the bedrooms or should carpet throughout be the same color. Also, any ideas for color for a small teen boy’s bedroom?
