How can I tell if the carpet in my apartment was recently cleaned?
The management office for our apartment told us the carpets would be cleaned a few days before we moved in. Yesterday (Sunday) was our move-in day, however, the carpets don’t look as though they were cleaned yet. I called the office today and the office maintenance log says the carpets were cleaned, but I’m not sure this is accurate. How can I tell by looking at the carpets whether they were cleaned or not? There are still lots of furniture marks in the carpet and some stains. There are also no lines where the machine would have passed on the carpets. I have two small children who literally live on the floor all day, so I want to be sure the job was done right!
How to clean stain on a beige carpet?
There are various stains on my carpet and I’d like to clean them all. The carpet is beige so I don’t want to take chances with hardcore cleaning products, if possible more natural ones or homemade tips that won’t risk discoloring the carpet.
I think some of the stains could be oil, minor burns, food. I have already vacuumed over and tried to remove them with dishsoap and a water (did not work).
What are some "conservative" approaches to attempting to cleaning these stains?
We have carpet that is a light beige in color?
how do we get stains out? The carpet has to be sooo cheap because it stains so easily. We shampoo it every 60 days . Is there something else I can put on it that will prevent it to stain?
Best way to get rid of tough stains on carpet?
I’m currently renting an apartment and I have some stains on the carpet. I spilled a bottle of water on my printer and some of the ink got on the carpet a few weeks ago and today I split mustard.
I’ve tried detergent, peroxide and vinegar but the gray carpet is still kinda yellow. What products should I try? Should I also try a steam carpet cleaner? My parents have one, but I need to know if it’s worth the drive. I’ve head mustard is impossible to get out.
Thanks!

How can I clean carpet residue off of hardwood floors?
I just purchased a 45-year-old home and the previous owners installed carpet over the hardwood floors. They ripped it up before selling it to us and the carpet pad left residue in high traffic areas. It looks like the floors have stains in some of those high-traffic areas as well. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way of cleaning this? We don’t have much time to do extensive work on the floors before moving in because we also have to paint all the interior walls. Any suggestions?
What is the best carpet steam cleaner on the market?

I have pets and we have the occasional accident or tracking in of mud, plus I’ve got soda stains, etc. I don’t expect to be able to get all of the stains out but I do want to get my carpet nice and clean as possible. I am willing to invest more money for a better machine. What is the best steam cleaner on the market? Any suggestions?

How often does carpet need to be replaced in apartments in Illinois?
We have lived in the same apartment for 3 years in Schaumburg, Illinois and we will be moving out in November. The carpet is very light and after 3 years it has picked up so many stains and discolorations that will not come out. We don’t want to lose our security deposit over the carpet having to be replaced. If you have an answer for me please source where you found it so I can use that. The management at the complex are not honest with anyone and I will need to have something to back this up with.
How long do people usually have carpet before it wears out and needs to be replaced?
I am curious about how often people usually keep their carpeting in their house. I know some people keep their carpet until it has a few stains and some people keep their carpet until it has spots all over, ‘traffic lines’, etc.
How long do people usually keep their carpet before they replace it? How many years would you figure?
